Toxoplasma gondii (Toxo) is a kind of protozoa widely parasitized in cells, which can damage many organs and tissues. The main routes of infection are contacting cats, dogs or other animals infected with Toxoplasma gondii and eating contaminated raw eggs, raw milk, raw meat, etc. Toxoplasmosis, also known as toxoplasmosis, is mostly a recessive infection or subclinical process in humans. Pregnant women are prone to primary toxoplasmosis infection due to changes in endocrine and decreased immunity. Detection of Toxoplasma IgM (Toxo IgM) antibody in serum can be a very useful and necessary method for clinical screening of Toxoplasma infection. When pregnant women are infected with Toxoplasma gondii, the antibody can produce specific IgM antibody. Because IgM antibody often appears in the early stage of infection, the detection of IgM antibody indicates that the pregnant woman has a recent infection. However, confirmation of Toxoplasma gondii infection by this indicator alone is not perfect, and it needs to be combined with other laboratory tests to make a clear diagnosis.

1. The anti Toxoplasma IgG antibody is positive (but the titer is ≤ 1 ∶ 512), and the positive IgM antibody indicates that Toxoplasma gondii continues to infect.
2. Toxoplasma gondii IgG antibody titer ≥ 1 ∶ 512 positive and/or IgM antibody ≥ 1 ∶ 32 positive indicate recent infection of Toxoplasma gondii. The rise of IgG antibody titers in double sera at acute and convalescent stages by more than 4 times also indicates that Toxoplasma gondii infection is in the near future.
3. Toxoplasma gondii IgG antibody is negative, but IgM antibody is positive. IgM antibody is still positive after RF latex adsorption test, considering the existence of window period. Two weeks later, recheck the IgG and IgM antibodies of Toxoplasma gondii. If IgG is still negative, no subsequent infection or recent infection can be determined regardless of the IgM results.
