Cytomegalovirus infection is very common among people, but most of them are subclinical recessive and latent infections. When the infected person has low immunity or is pregnant, receives immunosuppressive treatment, organ transplantation, or suffers from cancer, the virus can be activated to cause clinical symptoms. It is reported that 60%~90% of adults can detect IgG like CMV antibodies, and anti CMV IgM and IgA in serum are markers of virus replication and early infection. CMV IgG titer ≥ 1 ∶ 16 is positive, indicating that CMV infection continues. The increase of IgG antibody titer of double sera by 4 times or more indicates that CMV infection is recent.
The vast majority of women of childbearing age with positive CMV IgG antibody detection will not suffer from primary infection after pregnancy. Therefore, it is of great significance to reduce and prevent the birth of congenital human cytomegalovirus infection by detecting CMV IgG antibody in women before pregnancy and taking the negative as the key monitoring object after pregnancy.
